Sunset Over Dunes

New Spot + Progression in Video.

Special memories and a special painting. The joy of finding a new spot to paint.

A new combination, backlit grassy dunes, and the light peeking over it, radiating over it against the grass, but setting, so haste was needed to get all parts in.

When you have a new spot, of course you want to return to it. And it will always be slightly different, or totally different, but great to paint. The seasons will move the sun away from being right over the dunes. (Include timing=season in your painting-spot notes!)

Here, besides the difficult light & sun parts, it's the grass in backlight, the sand in between, all in darks, yet affected by the sun, that was challenging and exciting. The red haze in the backlight top dune area indicates this effect.
