Paintings in Oils by Roos Schuring.
Plein air painting, Images & Videos, Enjoy!
It's fun to develop. Seeing my work from years ago compared to now: (for example) you can see I found my solutions to the 'blue problem'.
(Which is: blue is a cool color and it's hard to portray sunniness with blue alone. If you have a blue sky, blue ocean, what colors do you choose for these 'simple' areas?)
Purples can solve this, turquoises, letting more reds/yellows in and fitting sand in, making sand more warm, sometimes, to unify and to 'sunnify'.
There are of course a zillion ways to paint a sunny beach. Being aware of the lightness of a sky (to not come home with a too dark blue sky that looks like thunder afterwards) or/and to avoid a too light sky: because perhaps your sand catches the most light and it all needs to be painted 'in comparison', yes, in 'a right value relationship', and this can have many many faces.
Experiment!
