One With The Elements

Clouds, clouds & clouds!

It’s nice to paint a vertical canvas for a horizontal view. Portraying clouds vertical. The stormy days were wonderful to get one with the elements.

See all those different greys, light effects, an ocean showing the highest lights, white waves or the sun coloring the water in an ochre. (Like in a previous post, painting #162)

When the gear is under control you can really enjoy it. There are less people walking the beach, good for your concentration. Wearing a hat, covering the ears, it’s you, the weather and the painting.

Much different in Summer when the ‘human aspect’ plays a big role. People on their blankets watching you. 20 People behind you watching every stroke. That’s another ‘thing’ to deal with. You might like some headphones then. It can help you to stay in a similar ‘zen’ like state as when you are ‘one with the elements’.

To me, the painting comes first. So I’ll take the ‘bothersome parts’ and just focus on getting the job done. Viewing beauty and portraying it. And each season has its pros and cons. Next up, the SPRING Summerish views.
