Summerish Moments.

These Summer moments on the beach deliver very different paintings compared to the rest of the year.
Sitters versus walkers, saturated scenes versus the natural views.

This painting is one of many I recorded video of during the process. Often you'll see me being very serious in explaining the struggle*. (*read below in this blog post about how Happy painting includes the struggle too.)

My paintings may 'look effortless' but often the opposite is true.

To get to a 'loose' painting I scrutinize each stroke. This painting took hours and hours. Not that it matters, as long as it takes to get to a good painting, the concentration it takes you can really exhaust.

But it was worth the time & struggle.

'Passbyers' think creating a painting in 4 hours is quick, you'll feel the opposite. You won't be able to convey this to 'a regular dude', and why would you, I often make the mistake to share with them why this is, most won't understand.

Acceptance and focusing on your mission will help you I think. You know why you're there. Sweating and fussing with paint. Hearing the remarks. Nevermind it. Part of the crowded beaches. The downside ; ) to Summer.

If you've been reading my blog, you know I always put the end-result above each discomfort.

*= And happy painting is not the same as easy painting. Accepting the struggle to be part of it is.

The 'happy painting' to me is knowing you can bring a painting to complement, whether good or sometimes bad, you know you sometimes win, sometimes lose. If a painter never loses, they're not taking enough risk I think.

You need to take risk to find new things. Deeper and deeper into the jungle, in search of new treasures : )
