Funny how we forget to go out early enough.
You’ll need prep time. And it’s light WAY before the actual sunrise. I think 40 minutes prior it’s already light out.
And if you want to paint the land in total darkness, the blue hour will suit you better, that will be 1.5 hour before sunrise. Maybe earlier. (As it's more light more quickly in the open field / near the ocean compared to a city/forest location.)
There were no clouds to make the blue hour more compelling to paint: because when there are those: it’s so beautiful to paint that too, (like this other painting: will put that one all the way below.)
