Red Double Leaved Tulip

Seeing = Feeling. 

Like fire! So red!

Started this one when it was still in the garden in full bright sunny weather.

As the rain started I moved it two days later in a vase, and finished the painting. Of course lots of adjustments. Especially going from a 'garden' background to a 'greyish' simple background and vase.

Happy with it. Very different. But yes, I think 'disposition' has a hand in outcomes and end results, even in style. It changes day to day, season to season, year to year.⁠ (More below)

Style

I think most paintings 'create themselves'. The first thing you need to let go of is to try to 'control style'. Style is something appearing. It doesn't need controlling I think.
The way you paint influences the style mostly. Is it 'after life'? This will deliver a different style of painting than painting 'after a photo'. 

When you want a directer style, 'a looser style': Start tossing out the photos. (And thank me later ;)
Don't want to sound arrogant, but I want you to understand the importance.
Seeing = Feeling.
It's much harder to 'feel' from a photo. Impressions are much deeper seeing/painting in/from real life!👍
