Paintings in Oils by Roos Schuring.
Plein air painting, Images & Videos, Enjoy!
A good still life has a fascinating play of light. Sometimes you can catch it, sometimes not.
It's good to paint it, then put it aside. Not scrutinizing it, put it out of sight.
Often, looking at it later, you'll be happily surprised. The good thing about creating floral still lifes: the flowers wither, so you'll have to finish, and preferably paint it in one day, one session.
Yes, time-boundaries work well for a painter. Makes you fuss less, makes your marks purer, less considerate.
FL12 Floral Still Life Painting 'Peonies in Sun'
Roos Schuring, gouache/panel, 20.3 x 25.4 cm | 8" x 10" (sold) Find Florals for Sale here:
Did paint without an easel, I put the panel on a chair, worked on it horizontally.
Having it flat avoids dripping. Sometimes you need to have it on the floor just to be able to take more distance, standing up.
