Paintings in Oils by Roos Schuring.
Plein air painting, Images & Videos, Enjoy!
Coming to the beach I look at what I like most, and sometimes nothing clear stands out.
Then you sit down and absorb more sensitive, in a relaxed state. And then the gift of inspiration can hit again.
Here the beautiful light far away, coloring everything in a pastel (soft color) struck me most.
More and more I think we'll need to be 'colorists' understanding color contrast and optical mixing as a tool to indicate 'light'.

This was May 1st, still cold enough for the full winter coat outfit.
Many blues, and light ochres.
For example, for a far away dune, mixing a greener blue and put it next to a purple blue edge creates a grey-ish area, if you have saturated cerulean dots in this area, the eye mixes the 3 together.
The result is a 'far-away' color, that feels greyish, yet the saturation makes it feel 'in sunlight'.
See this,
Your Seascapes will get that spark of life in, when you can paint them there: standing on the beach.
Even if you don't live near a beach, you can book a holiday to a place near the ocean and start painting there.
