Paintings in Oils by Roos Schuring.
Plein air painting, Images & Videos, Enjoy!
I often end up with a light painted horizon area, because far away trees can be so light in good weather. But here, with the grey clouds making light effects, I could go the opposite, darks far away, the light near.
◆ It can help to not include 'black' into the palette. So, it doesn't go into the colors, and not into 'the greys'.
{ Meaning: Not bringing a 'black' from a tube. Neither Paynes. (Just as an experiment, see hoe it can change the total outcome of the painting...)
◆ You'll end up with a more saturated painting, also the 'muted' colors won't turn to a 'flat grey' (indoors looking at it esp.)
◆ Greys can remain colorful when you mix two complementaries together for example.
◆ Blacks for a cow can be created from a blue and a brown as a base. ◆ From there you can include reds, yellows, blues, whites to stir the outcome color: for example, a blackish color that feels blue, a blackish color that has a red haze to it, or a blackish color that needs to be greenish and less dark in value, etc.
