Paintings in Oils by Roos Schuring.
Plein air painting, Images & Videos, Enjoy!
Sheep clouds as we call them here, they are the most difficult to portray. Because the sun has its own halo effects and combined with little clouds, it's a layered effect. Often I have tried to get these effects in but with this one I think I succeeded.
I think when a painting portrays 'logic' of light in a 'non-linear' or 'non-logic' way, you have something.
Outdoor painting is great for that.
As you 'register' what you see, you need to go with many flows, leaving perfectionism a bit behind, to find the order in the intuitive, harmony in the grouping together of lights and shadows.
Too perfect, too logical needs to be avoided, letting the dots sing. Yet, as we study nature we of course always try to find the logic behind the effects, so we are better prepared to paint it intuitively.
