Painting The Sunset

Winds & Warmth.

A sunset is most always better with some activity, whether it's clouds, figures, kites, it decides a lot; how a painting makes you feel, but also the perspective (view or wideness) of the landscape.
As an example, if you keep your figures small (or paint them far away) the wideness of the scene is underlined. I don't always include figures, but sometimes it can be the cherry on top, very much adding to the 'feel'. Of course, you do need to see them, to paint them.

When the class and I were there, the figures often left before we could include them into the scene, so sometimes you need to either include these from the very start (Before you even paint the sky!) -or- really memorize their posture, and light side, shadow side, to drop them in at a later stage when you might be looking at a deserted beach.
The winds bring the kite-surfers. Also good to include.
