Cows & The Landscape

Compositions.

We drive around in search of good spots. And when there are shadows on the grass (in the morning) you can play with shadow & light.

Sometimes I eliminate the horizon trees in a painting, like here

And other times I make them lower, to have them further out or to have them not interfere with the composition too much.

It’s nice when you can ‘abstractify’ such a tree line. And have it be ‘1’ with the sky.

The light on the grass being the eye-catcher here.

In the morning the colors are best. In the evening too, but most cows go home after 5/6. Plus, it’s harder to find the energy to paint in the evening..
