I really think clouds should be painted directly, face to face, eye to eye I often say, to see its movement and colors, so you can paint skies that convey this most directly, most 'true'.

When it works out you have something wonderful. The liveliness is its power, the painting 'ringing true'.

You can see this power in artist's paintings, even when they've just started out.

Perhaps they might not be satisfied with the full painting yet, but, there is that part in the painting singing so true, fascinating the viewer, and That's the magic of outdoor painting!

 A Big Seascape! Yes, I've been experimenting with different sizes and I haven't really shown all of those yet. These are best 'do-able' when the sky is interesting enough, this is 60x40 cm (23.6" x 15.7") still not Really big, but certainly interesting.
